A Bit About Me
My journalism career started at UW Oshkosh in the student news room. As the Editor-in-Chief of the Advance-Titan, an independent student run newspaper that was established in 1894, I solidified myself as an award-winning journalist at both the state and national levels.
In my role, I reported on heavy-hitting topics while also making executive administrative decisions during a time of institutional disruption. The disruption primarily stemmed from an $18 million budget deficit faced by the university. During mass layoffs, campus protests and push back from administration, I fearlessly researched and covered topics the city papers neglected.
After graduation, I landed a job as the community reporter for a small town paper called the Winneconne News. Through this position, I have deepened my understanding of municipal and county government, education funding and the budgets impacting all of the above. In a town of only 2,500 people, I have had to be creative with how I find stories. The best ones I've found are often hiding in unlikely places.
I’m driven by a passion for telling stories that serve the public interest, and I’m always seeking professional opportunities to continue that work while challenging me to dig deeper.
