The Neenah Joint School District (NJSD) is facing budgetary uncertainty going into the 2025-2026 school year after the bi-annual Wisconsin State Budget didn’t increase any state aid to school districts.


The costs of running a school district have continued to increase due to inflation over the past few years and state aid is not keeping up with those costs. Wisconsin’s state budget is causing anxiety amongst educators as state general aid is set to decline and increased pressure is put on property taxes across the state. 


The budget does not increase any general state aid to school districts in Wisconsin. Instead, the state approved a $325 per pupil increase to the revenue limit. A revenue limit sets how much a district can make through general state aid and property taxes for the general fund. ...
